Alexa Frankian

presented by the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona.

Alexa Frankian, a twenty-five-year-old Canadian soprano, is being recognized as one of opera’s most compelling young voices, and is now the recipient of the 2026 Igor Gorin Memorial Award held at the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona.

A graduate of the University of Toronto and the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music, Alexa has previously been a Resident Artist at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia and performed for two acclaimed seasons at the prestigious Merola Opera Program before being accepted into the globally renowned San Francisco Opera as part of the Adler Fellowship Program in 2026.

“Receiving the Igor Gorin Memorial Award as the 2026 recipient is a deeply meaningful honour, and I am truly grateful,” said Alexa. “As an Adler Fellow at San Francisco Opera, this recognition arrives at such a special and formative moment in my artistic journey, and it encourages me to continue growing with curiosity, humility, and a deep dedication to this art form. At this stage in a young singer’s career, support like this helps to nurture the next generation of artists like me.”
